Renie was born in Elberfeld in Germany on August 5th 1929.  She came on the Kinderstransport in May 1939. Her parents perished during the Holocaust. Renie’s sister went to Palestine in 1940. Her brother after being  taken to Dachau  at the age of 16,  came to England in 1939 where he was reunited with Renie. Fortunately some of Renie’s family survived the war  and came to England and she lived with them.
